Appt 8/24

So we went for a follow up with Dr. Ivey today. And boy were we in for a surprise, but so was he lol! He was super shocked! He told me that it will be any day now that our lil boy Heath will be here!!!! So we left went home and packed our stuff and now we are living at the Ronald McDonald House! Its super close to the hospital in case anything happens and Marc is closer to work lol.
It hit both Marc and I really hard that this is all coming to an end and we are about to have a lil one to care for and about to see our lil one hooked up to IV's and such. Its a really scary thought!
We want to thank you all for the prayers that have been lifted up on Heaths behalf. It truely is a blessing and honor to have some friends and family members that know how to pray!
So tonight was a short post. Sure yall are happy :)

Our Baby Boy :)

Hey guys :)

So I should have started this a long time ago, but I am just now able to talk about it without being so upset and wanting to break down all the time.

On April the 23rd Marc and I found out we were expecting a lil boy :) Marc was estatic! I cried cause I wanted a lil girl so bad but Im happy with my lil boy :) So we left the hospital went and shared the news with his family while I called mine up and let them know. We headed home a few hours later and I got a call from my OBs office. She said I need you to come in today the doctor wants to talk to you about your ultrasound, Marc was like we cant cause I have to be at work in 30 min. So I made an appt to see my OB on the following Tuesday. Well we get home, Marc gets ready for work and leaves. not 30 min later I get a phone call from my OB, She said I have some bad news, I was like ok....I didnt think she would actually tell me over the phone, but she did. She said "Your baby has something called Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. Do you know what that is?" I had never heard of anything like it so of course I replied Im sorry never heard of it. She said it basically means your baby has a hole in his diaphram and his stomach and intestines are in the chest cavity. Then she told me not to worry that he would be fine. Well it didnt sound fine to me so I thanked her and hung up.
Im in tears now, sobbing. I call Marc, No answer. His phone had died :( I was sooo upset! So I called my mama (Thank God for Mamas) and she was like calm down I cant understand you. So I took a deep breath and told her what my doc told me. Mama said hang up and call Daddy so I did. I called Daddy and told him he started praying ( Thank God for the best prayer warrior in my life), he said I need to be calm and that I have been through worse things before. So I called mama back. She asked did Marc know I was like no maam his phone is dead so she said call his job. I did thankfully his boss Jason answered. Unfortunatly Marc wasnt at work yet. He said Ill have him call you ASAP. Are you ok? ( I wsa tryin to sound ok, guess it didnt work) I said yes sir, just need to talk to him as soon as he gets in. So I call mama and talk to her again and she suggested I research. So i started doin some research. I found an awesome support group called CHERUBS. http://www.cdhsupport.org/ They are amazing people that I truly appreciate them being there all the way through this journey.
For those of you who dont know what CDH is here is an explanation:
CDH occurs in approximently 1 in every 2,500 births . The cause of CDH is not yet known. The diaphragm is formed in the first trimester of pregnancy and it controls the lungs' ability to inhale and exhale. CDH occurs when the diaphragm fails to form or to close totally and an opening allows abdominal organs into the chest cavity. This inhibits lung growth. Survival rates depends on the types and numbers of organs involved in the herniation and the amount of lung tissue available. Roughly 50% of cdh babies do not survive.

So we have been goin to a specialist who has been totally awesome and supportive. We have had some days with bad news and some days with great news. The latest news is that The fluid that was built up around the stomach is completely gone, the liver is completely down, and they are starting to see a lil growth with the left lung. They said he was doing so well that instead of 2 BPP a week we will now be only doin 1! :) We are super happy.

Thank you to all the friends and family members that have been keeping us in your prayers!
Hope I didnt bore you :)
I hope to keep this updated through out his whole journey, and i hope to post pics of him when hes born :)

God Bless to all
Hugs
